About
I am Rodrigo Vailati, a solutions architect. For more than ten years I have been designing distributed systems that need to scale and stay up: real-time financial processing, cards, banking messaging and, today, a loyalty ledger with tens of millions of accounts.
I started in operations, in networking and automation, and worked my way up to architecture. That background made me understand problems from the infrastructure up to the business rule, and it is the angle of this blog: every article starts from a real problem, shows what I measured, the decision made and what I would do differently.
I work mainly with .NET, PostgreSQL at scale, Kafka and Redis, on Azure. I like problems where performance, data and reliability meet.
The systems described here are real. Names, code and numbers are rewritten so that no company can be identified.
